ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Propose and conduct research on novel systems that can be field deployed in the diverse industries GEWT serves. These duties will include creating prototypes and parenting the device to full product status;
The candidate is also expected to prepare patent disclosures and to represent GEWT at national and international scientific meetings;
They may also publish in national and international journals when appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
PhD or MSc in Microbiology;
Experience in bacterial cell cultures, plating, media preparation;
Experience with culture identification;
Experience with microscope observation;
Experience with serotyping;
Proven track record of timely, new product development;
Ability to plan, lead, and execute boundaryless projects with collaborators in other businesses and with select external partners;
Experience establishing and maintaining project designs and timelines;
Experience with water microbiology desirable;
Strong laboratory capabilities coupled with the ability to apply diverse techniques from different scientific disciplines;
Customer-centric and results-oriented working style;
Excellent presentation style and strong communication skills.
