职位描述/要求：
This position is advertised under the Locally Employed Staff Program of the United States Mission in China. Individuals who reside outside China may not apply. All applicants who are not the family members of United States Government employees assigned to China and under Chief of Mission Authority must be residing in country at the time of application and must be able to obtain the required work and residency permits before the positions start date to be eligible for consideration.

The U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai is seeking one individual for the position of Local Guard Supervisor with the Regional Security Office.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Supervises, manages, and trains a 33-member Local Guard Force assigned to safeguard U.S. Government property and personnel at five different sites in Shanghai. Liaises on behalf of the Regional Security Office with Shanghai Public Security Bureau (i.e., Chinese police) and Peoples Armed Police (i.e., Chinese military) officials. Coordinates residential security.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must address each qualification requirement detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each requirement. Applicants who fail to provide detailed information supporting each requirement will not be considered for this position.
Education:
· Completion of secondary school is required.
Experience:
Two to two and one-half years of military, police, or private experience in guard relates duties as well as at least one year of the experience should have been in a supervisory capacity.
Language:
Good working knowledge of English and Chinese (level 3) is required.
Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of physical security procedures and supervisory techniques
Skills and Abilities:
Must be skilled in the use of security equipment, hold a valid drivers license, and type at level 1, less than 40 words per minute. Must possess basic classroom and practical exercise teaching technique skills for use in providing guard training (for subjects please see 15c just above).
SELECTION CRITERIA: When equally qualified, Appointment Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
