Job Description
Novartis is currently seeking a Senior Scientist in Pharmacokinetics that is interested in permanent relocation to support our research efforts at our facility in China.The successful candidate will have responsibility for the design, analysis, interpretation and reporting of pharmacokinetic and pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic results. In addition, a succesful candidate will be expected to participate on multidisciplinary drug discovery teams, where their role will be to plan, conduct and interpret in vitro and pre-clinical drug metabolism studies, in order to provide input on drug metabolism issues to aid drug discovery efforts. A comprehensive package including relocation will be offered.
Minimum requirements
We are looking for candidates possessing a Ph.D. in Pharmacokinetics or a closely related discipline with 5+ years of experience in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company. An in-depth understanding of all aspects of DMPK with special emphasis on the application of pharmacokinetics in drug discovery and the ability to work in a team-based drug discovery/development environment is required. A successful candidate must be able to design and manage both routine and mechanistic animal PK studies, as well as, direct PK resources across the organization to drive drug discovery efforts. Knowledge and experience with the design of experiments to define PK-PD relationships and competency using non-compartmental techniques and pharmacokinetic modeling software (e.g., WinNonlin or equivalent) is required. Experience with pre-clinical pharmacokinetic protocol design and experience working with CROs is highly desired. A successful candidate will need excellent interpersonal skills, particularly oral and written communication skills.
