Reports to:Spray PVDF Team Leader Department:R&D-Metal
STATEMENT OF JOB PURPOSE: The role of the Senior Chemist (Spray) is to provide R&D and technical support to the business as directed by the Spray PVDF Team Leader. This will include the formulation of new products, colour matching, and spray line troubleshooting, etc. It is expected that the Senior Chemist may be called upon to provide mentoring or technical direction to more junior member of the team. On occasion the Senior Chemist may be required to stand in for the Team Leader. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities: -Formula Maintenance: maintain product information in the ERP system. -standardize operating procedures and sometimes conduct project technical report writing -Colour matching and formulating: Match colours and generate the most cost-effective formulae suitable for production and application under the direction of the Spray PVDF team leader, ensure all product formulated are error free -Manufacturing Support: Work with Operations to ensure product is made correctly -Sales Support: work with the Spray PVDF Team Leader to assist the sales team, develop a good rapport with customers as necessary -Troubleshooting: determine the cause of problem batches and work to rectify product. -Safety: ensure HSE are maintained in an appropriate way Requirements: -Bachelors degree in Chemical engineering or equivalent. -Min.5 years working experience in coating and painting industry -Good command of English -Proficiency in Microsoft applications -Highly responsive, collaborative, technically creative, well-organized -A hard worker and team player
