Hiring Manager: Corporate HS&E Asia-Pacific Team
Location: Zhang Jiang Hi-Tech Park, Pudong, Shanghai , China

Reporting & Supervisory Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Asia-Pacific Team.
Description:
The site HS&E Manager will maintain health, safety and environmental programs to assure compliance with Honeywell and regulatory requirements at the Zhang Jiang site. The position will interact with many different operating units including the research and development community, facilities and administrative organizations. The position requires active participation in projects involving new procedures, processes and facility design to assure consideration is provided for health, safety, environmental, loss prevention and product stewardship concerns.
Responsibilities:
· Process owner for the site’s HS&E programs.
· Work with employees, consultants, contractors and local officials to ensure appropriate procedures and permits are in place and current. To ensure all systems are operated and maintained in accordance with local regulations and Honeywell policies.
· Work with businesses to ensure appropriate identification of HS&E risks, to implement and maintain controls for all projects. These include working with hazardous chemicals, hazardous waste, pressure testing, extrusion equipment, engine test cells, etc.
· Organize, facilitate and provide HS&E training to ensure employees develop the necessary HS&E skills and knowledge to meet Honeywell and regulatory requirements.
· Conduct incident/near-miss investigation, process safety reviews, and update or develop site policies and procedures as needed.
· Track HS&E corrective actions and work to ensure accountability is given to the appropriate individual.
· Lead the execution of the annual HS&E assurance letter process for the site.
· Work with the site leadership to coordinate the implementation of the Honeywell HS&E Management System at the site.
· Lead efforts to continuously improve HS&E performance; including safety improvement programs and corrective actions, environmental protection projects and conservation activities.
· Opportunity to participate in Corporate HS&E audits, programs and initiatives in the region.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
· Ability to communicate well in English and Mandarin, verbally and in written form.
· 7-8 years working experience with 3-5 years of progressive experience in HS&E or related field in Multi-National Companies.
· Minimum bachelor degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, or occupational safety, health, industrial hygiene from an approved university preferred.
· Knowledgeable about health, safety and environmental regulations in China is required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
· Certified Safety Engineer qualification from State Administration of Work Safety preferred.
· Prior experience in chemical manufacturing or research and development environment or engineering project management environment is an advantage.
· Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated team participation as well as ability to manage and develop people as well as having program management skills is an advantage.
· Experience with HS&E management systems such as ISO/RC 14001, ISO/OHSAS 18001 or other related HSE management systems is an advantage.
