SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
The EHS Engineer is reporting to the Production manager. The EHS Engineer's primary responsibilities are to assist Production Manager to implement Environment, Health & Safety programs. RA manufacturing locations worldwide are ISO 14000 registered.
Incumbent's challenges include: coaching the line organization regarding RA standards and procedures in order to achieve a zero incident workplace .Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety requirements and RA standards. Assess risk associated with manufacturing processes and act to minimize risks. Incumbent will provide specialized Health & Safety expertise and assist in setting up location Health & Safety programs.
The incumbent will ensure recordkeeping is consistent with RA and China requirements, and establish systems to ensure all incidents, major incidents, hours worked, and quarterly metrics are reported according to RA guidelines. The incumbent to assist in the investigation of all major incidents and noncompliance incidents. The incumenbent will make Health & Safety training plan, prepare training materials, and provide trainings to the location on the local/RA new standards/regulations and Health & Safety programs/procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1) Implement the RA EHS Policies, Procedures and Program
2) Ensure EHS incident management system data is maintained accurately and in timely manner.
3) Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the RA Self Assessment Tool for all EHS protocols on an annual basis.
4) Responsible for the development and tracking of action plans to close gaps found during self assessments.
5) Coordinate the activities of the location's Strategic and Tactical EHS Teams. This includes scheduling meeting, taking meeting minutes, and tracking action items for the team.
6) Develop and implement standard safe work instructions appropriate to the location's various EHS programs.
7) Maintain chemical inventory/MSDS's for all materials used at the location.
8) Coordinate the selection and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
9) Responsible for ensuring that all regulatory reporting is completed accurately and timely.
10) Coordinate necessary EHS reports, permits, communications and self assessments.
11) Coordinate major projects with contractors to include orientation.
12) Develop, conduct and coordinate training of associates in the area of EHS.
13) Responsible for reviewing compliance status of applicable EHS requirements from federal, state and RA EHS regulations for facilities.
14) Maintain Emergency Evacuation program and Fire drills current.
15) Assist in the investigation of all incidents and management of location injuries, illnesses and return to work programs.
16) Identify and maintain occupational medicine services.
17) Provide case management of all injuries and illnesses.
18) Provide weekly reports regarding plan completion and location highlights.
19) Oversee management of all waste generation and disposal in accordance with RA policies.
20) Incumbent must comply with all Company policies and maintain a safe and clean work area.
21) Perform related assignments as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:Minimum:
College degree in engineering or science related field. Degree in Env, Health or Safety preferred.
Strong computing skills; word, excel, access, power-point, etc.
e) Knowledge:
Knowledgeable in Regulatory compliance, incident investigation, & safety engineering
f) Skills:
Bilingual
Complete Fluency in English reading, writing and speak required.
g) Experience:
Must have at least 3 years experience in health & safety. 5-6 years preferred.
