· Be the local (technical) focal point for the Low Voltage Switch Gear market segment, having or developing all the technical (product- and application-wise) and customer know-how and expertise for support and development of DEP activities in this region
· Be the reference point both for DSM EP employees (e.g. internal training, globalization issues) as well as customers who are dealing/wish to deal with DSM EP's materials in this segment and region
· Help create new applications using DEPAP materials both at existing as well as at new customers in the mentioned market segment
· Set up, implement and steer locally as well as regionally those relevant application development and product development programs within diverse teams, which are of interest to the region

Main tasks and accountabilities:

· Build up application and industry know-how, proactively identifying opportunities and trends and adequately reacting upon them. Use this knowledge to generate new, profitable business
· Set up professional application development projects within the region and (help) implement them within the constraints of Business Group and Business Unit policies and marketing plans, timing and budget
· Investigate, analyze and report on the status of the charger industry, identifying opportunities and recommending to the regional management potential courses of action and timing
· Keep numerous contacts at all levels within the industry, with the aim of improving our market position within the segment
· Report technical trends in the market as well as contribute to the Business Group's understanding of our local and regional competitive position
· Translate customer requirements to product specifications and, if relevant, product development specifications, in order to obtain sustainable, long-term and profitable business
· Work with the local sales & marketing force and obtain technical approvals and support on getting commercial approvals and running business in this region
· Define, establish and keep the relevant local and regional expertise level(s) on a high professional level
· Provide high-level customer support and become the preferred material supplier counterpart within the industry
· Conduct informal and structural sessions with the Business Development Managers in this region on sub-segment know-how, developing where needed adequate training and multiplication tools
· Co-operate in regional teams to help multiply technical & commercial successes over countries

Authorities:

The employee should work independently and where needed supported by Regional Manager to:
· Specify materials into customer applications
· Specify product characteristics
· Negotiate with prospects and customers (in the broadest sense of the word) about DEPAP product applicability
· Set up an industry segment plan, analyzing actual and trends and offering conclusions and recommendations to support DSM Engineering Plastic's LVSG business growth
· Make and keep presentations, knowledge folders about the Business Unit, Business Unit development capabilities, product portfolio and potential proven applications
· Formulate product development specifications and programs for discussion and approval on local/regional level
Qualifications & Attributes
· University education (B.Sc./M.Sc.), preferably majored in engineering mechanic
· Minimum of three years experience in functional design in the field of Low Voltage Switch Gear in Design Center/Product Development Center.
· Having proven experience in technical development within LVSG segment or related field, either at a major (private) local or, a joint-venture company with a global player in this field
· Having fundamental knowledge of engineering plastics in injection, molding is preferred.
· A strategic project manager, who is able to manage the whole process from identifying client requirements, translating into specifications, making recommendation to implementing the project
· Fluent spoken and written Mandarin & English
· A self-starter, proactive and ambitious individual
· An effective communicator, showing integrity and openness in reporting to senior management and interacting with both internal and external parties
· Analytical, with good judgment, business sense and problem solving skills
· A strong negotiator who is able to identify customers' needs and persuasive in presenting ideas
· A team-player, able to work interdependently
· Result and quality oriented, customer focused, yet capable of implementing company policies firmly and diplomatically with customers, agents, distributors and suppliers
· Willing to travel anytime within this region
