职位描述/要求：
Working Location: Shanghai (SCIP / Caojing, Xinzhuang, etc.) & Beijing
During extended basic engineering and detail engineering the main workplace is at the location of the engineering contractor (Beijing). During construction the main workplace is at the Degussa site within the Shanghai Chemical and Industrial Park (SCIP).
It is mandatory to travel according to the requirements of the project.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The purpose of this position is to manage DEGUSSA investment projects or process improvement projects in whole China as a Material Engineer. This position requires planning and coordination of all activities related to piping material management. As part of the overall Project Engineering Team for the MATCH project, the Material Engineer supports the Piping Lead Engineer in charge of the overall EPCM – piping material specifications and procurement work.
The scope of work for this position ranges from basic and detailed engineering phase, goes on to construction / mechanical installation in the field and supports the start-up team during mechanical completion / pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Responsibilities: - supervise the EPCM contractor
- resolve contractor questions and problems
- determine corrective actions and coordinate piping material management
- check and approve specifications and drawings for standard and special piping components
- carry out expediting, progress control and quality inspections at manufacturer's workshops
Requirments： - University or college degree in chemical engineering, process technology or mechanical engineering.
- At least 5 years of professional experience as piping / material engineer in plant engineering and construction for chemical processes, herein at least 2 years of work in a Chinese Design Institute.
- Sound knowledge of and experience with piping material management for chemical plants.
- Familiar with Chinese standards and codes and experience in their practical application during execution projects locally.
- Fluent in English, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a multilingual and multicultural team
