Principal Responsibilities: ·                     Managing a team of people responsible for inspection, quality assurance, health & safety and environmental duties. ·                     Interviewing, hiring and firing personnel within the Department. ·                     Monitoring effectiveness of Inspection Department. ·                     Determining capital expenditure requirements of QHSE Department. ·                     Approving departmental expenditure for QHSE Department. ·                     Monitoring applicability of new equipment for QHSE Department. ·                     Documenting QHSE activities in the form of manuals. ·                     Documenting working procedures and specifications in the form of an Operations Manual. ·                     Monitoring by audit actual practices and operations against the above manuals. ·                     Evaluating and auditing suppliers for quality and environmental capabilities. ·                     Providing quality assurance and environmental expertise to other SLB locations when requested. ·                     Approving certain other departments output prior to implementation, e.g. drawings, method sheets, design files etc. as necessary. ·                     Monitoring levels and trends of scrap/rework/customer complaints. ·                     Reviewing all incoming orders for inspection and quality assurance requirements. ·                     Liaising with customers to determine their quality requirements. ·                     Gaining and maintaining such quality and environmental accreditations as required by SLB and customers. ·                     Dealing with customers’ inspectors on-site for product or contract reviews. ·                     Investigate customers’ complaints. ·                     Maintaining all quality records to demonstrate product traceability. ·                     Initiating computer system requirements relating to QHSE issues. ·                     Keeping up-to-date with National and International Standards relating to business sector and QHSE issues. ·                     Compliance with all Schlumberger QHSE and Equal Opportunity policies and practices.     Relationships: Internal:  Employees, other departments   External: Customers, suppliers, inspection agencies, other Schlumberger locations                                                   Person Specification:  

Education:         

• Educated to HNC level, or equivalent, minimum

 

Experience:

·        Minimum of 5 years experience in a quality assurance position.

·        Experience of working in an engineering/production environment

·        Experience of implementing/maintaining ISO 9000 quality systems

·        Experience of Environmental Management systems

·        Experience of Health & Safety legislation.

    Skills:

·        Communication skills

·        Presentation skills

·        Familiarity with Microsoft Office software package or equivalent
