JOB TITLE: Product Development Executive (高级主管)

JOB PURPOSE

Manage and implement technical activities encompassing development, reformulation and upgrade of Decorative products in accordance to the yearly Technical Department Objective through a team of chemist or technician. In the process the job holder needs to liaise and provide effective support to various functions

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Describe the major responsibilities and authorities of the job, emphasizing the end results which must be achieved.
1. Manage and implement all relevant projects assigned by the Department head from the yearly Technical Department Objective in accordance with our client SHE and Product Stewardship requirements.
2. To establish & manage work teams’ objectives, review team plans and report development progress.
3. Work with Marketing, Supply Chain for new product development as an effective support to the initiatives involving Development Department.
4. To liaise with the appropriate Government Bureau and authorities for information & to ensure all our client Paints products are certified under the appropriate standards eg GB Enterprise to allow their sale and distribution in
5. Manage and implement all relevant projects assigned by the Department head from the yearly Technical Department Objective in accordance with our client SHE and Product Stewardship requirements.
6. Support development team for new product launch in terms of color development
7. Use DOE methodolgy for formulation design optimization

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Describe the level of education, professional qualification, training and experience, which are the minimum requirement for effective performance in this job (Note: These are not necessarily the same as the job holder's).
Qualifications
Diploma or BSc degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry with at least 1year practical technical experience as Chemist in product formulation, development and colour related work or industry.
Basic computer operating knowledge i.e. using Power Point, Excel & Words
Experience
The position requires strong technical background in chemistry with a sound base experience in a process industry.
The leadership, good communication skill and teamwork are also required for this position.
Training Needed
1. Introduce to paint and color chemistry, inclusive of surface preparation, paint defect.
2. SHE, ISO9001, ISO14000 and OHSAS18000 concept training
