SUMMARY: APCO China, a leading international public affairs consultancy, is seeking to hire a senior consultant for its strategic communication team in Shanghai. The position demands versatility and strong experiences in a variety of industries, while mastering the skills and techniques of the public affairs field. As a senior consultant, the incumbent will be involved in day-to-day management of projects, leading a project team and mentoring junior staff. In addition, the incumbent is required to demonstrate strategic thinking, strong execution and problem solving skills, and ability to support new business development. He or she may interface with clients and consult with them regarding project issues, make tactical recommendations, and maintain communication with company management and team members. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage client project work on a daily basis
· Produce accurate summaries, reports and other client materials that require little or no revisions
· Delegate and manage work of junior staff and follow-up on progress and completion
· Ensure that all project deadlines are met
· Develop and track expenses against client budget
· Serve as client contact for specific tasks or projects
· Initiate internal and client meetings and conference calls
· Assist in responding to RFPs and preparing proposals by drafting text
· Identify ways to grow current client accounts
· Maintain 100% billability KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· BA or BS in related field required, or equivalent work experience
· 5-7 years relevant experience, preferably in communications industry, media and international working environment
· Sector specific knowledge and experience in health/pharmaceutical , B2B, fast moving consumer goods will be an asset
· Strong time management skills with ability to multi-task
· Excellent written and oral skills (Both English and Chinese)
· Demonstrated strategic and tactical abilities
