·  Based in Shanghai, China - TESCO Asia Sourcing Main Responsibilities (Home, Electric, Textile, Furniture, Stationary, Houseware, Sport & Leisure goods etc)
In Asia Sourcing Team, Shanghai Sourcing Office, TESCO Int’l Sourcing Report to          Commercial Director in Shanghai Sourcing Office JOB PURPOSE ·  To identify optimum global sources for Hardline to enable Asian Buying Teams to achieve their cost and quality targets
·  To identify, manage and develop products and suppliers
·  To identify and communicate global product trends
·  To ship product to the critical path KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES ·  Receive and aggregate buying briefs from Commercial Director or Country Buying Team
·  Forward buying briefs to suppliers
·  Obtain quotations from suppliers and negotiate best value offer
·  Develop products to meet the requirement of the Country Buying Teams
·  Selection of supply base to present to country buying teams
·  Complete annual supplier scorecard
·  Preparation of pre-trip pack, buying trip itineraries and supplier briefing
·  Presentation of final offer to Country Buying Teams
·  Confirmation of order details to Country Buying Teams
·  Work with the category team to deliver the critical path to ensure 100% on time launch
·  Agreeing and implementing a buy for less plan with the country buying team for all lines to reduce prices year on year
·  Perform supplier reviews, supported by Supply Chain Managers & Technical Managers
·  Attend trade fairs to identity product and suppliers
·  Maintain and monitor Tesco global product standards, supported by Technical Managers KEY MEASURES Financial
·  Achieving the total category shipment budgets for Sourcing Team in Shanghai Office
·  Achieving the target cost savings budget
·  % of orders v buying briefs received
Operational
·  Order shipped on time
·  All suppliers analysis with scorecard
·  Each buying trip has agreed critical path with Country Buying Teams
 People
·  Feedback from customers
·  Good working relationship with suppliers
·  Manage the Sourcing Buying Team
·  Train up buying manager
·  Team Building KEY CONTACTS ·  Asian Country Buying Teams - Buying Managers, Technical Managers, Merchandisers in all Asian Country - Malaysia, Thailand, China, Japan, Korea and other countries in Asia
·  International Sourcing Office - Category Manager
·  Sourcing Hub Manager

·  International Sourcing Office - Merchandisers & Assistant Merchandisers
·  Hymall Merchandising Team in Shanghai and other hub office in China SKILLS and EXPERIENCE ·  Minimum 7 years experience in special category Hardlines, 3 years experience on managerial level
(Home Textile, Cookware, Stationary, Furniture, Electric Appliances, Sports & Leisure goods etc)
·  Knowledge of direct sourcing from a global supply
·  Proven understanding of product specifications and production requirements and capacities to enable potential scaling of demand
·  Proven capability to interface with merchandisers and technical teams
·  Good language skills - written and spoken Fluent English and Mandarin
·  Speaking other Asian Country language is an advantage Required Qualification ·  University Graduated
·  7 years sourcing experience/merchandising experience (3 years experience on managerial level)
·  Frequent travel within China Mainland, HK and other Asian countries
·  Able to work under high pressure, the candidate is responsible, shows initiative and is flexible
·  Excellent communication and presentation skills with fluency in written and verbal English and Mandarin
·  Speaking other Asian language is an advantage
·  Candidate will have demonstrated an awareness of the cultural complexities of an international corporation, is technically strong, assertive and mature in approach
·  Excellent computer skill on Microsoft Office
