Job Summary The Power System Engineering Group are responsible for the design and support of National Oilwell Varco's Power System product line. The Power Systems Design / Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and design of systems consisting of Generators Controls, Power Distribution Equipment, AC and DC drives as well as providing technical support to sales, manufacturing, test, service and customers. This position will have a one year assignment in NOV's Houston based Power Systems Engineering group with the possibility of being extended or relocation back to NOV's Shanghai office. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reviewing customer requirements and specifications to determine system configuration, also responsible for the electrical and mechanical design of the NOV Power System Line Ups along with all required documentation such as;

Single Line Power Distrubution Diagrams
General Arrangment Drawings
Control Schmatics
Bills of Materials
System protection and coordination studies
Short circuit studies
Harmonic studies
Cable schedules
Functional Design Specifications
Special Project Documentation
Techinical Reference Manuals

• The Power Systems Design / Project Engineer will also provide technical support to sales and marketing, manufacturing, testing during prototype and production testing and well as field service when required.

Requirements

• B.S.E.E. or equivalent 4 year degree
• Prior project or system level engineering experience with Power products including AC and DC Drives preferred.
• Familiar with IEEE, IEC, NEMA, and ABS engineering standards and practices where applicable.
